Summary of Job Duties Under the direction of the Director, of the Appointment Business Center (ABC) the Registered Nurse (RN) will improve patient outcomes and promote wellness by navigating and performing the following duties: nurse triage, insurance prior authorizations of clinic in office procedures, patient appointment scheduling, referral management of internal and external patient referrals, and complete post‑discharge follow‑up calls for given patient populations.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree, Associates Degree, or Diploma in Nursing

Three (3) years nursing experience

Current/Valid Arkansas Registered Nursing License. BLS certification.

Strong computer and typing skills

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Two (2) years of experience in Nurse Triage, Appointment Scheduling, Patient Access, Clinic nursing, or any combination of the four.

ACLS certification or obtain certification within one year of hire date.

Call center experience, Epic Nurse Triage Module

Additional Information Job Requirements:

The RN will work closely with service lines, providers, and clinics to provide suitable and timely patient follow‑up.

The RN will be responsible for reviewing, requesting, and submitting clinical documentation as appropriate.

This position will be required to identify and differentiate between routine, urgent, or emergent/life‑threatening symptoms in order to provide safe and timely dispositions.

The RN will respond to patient and provider inquiries, prioritizing responses and routing urgent situations as necessary to providers.

Maintains accurate and appropriate documentation and follows patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA and UAMS policies and procedures.

Performs to the level of a licensed registered nurse as dictated by the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act and UAMS.

The RN will utilize decision‑making software including evidence‑based triage protocols, the application of a variety of procedures, policies and/or precedents relating to both the standards and procedures of the nursing profession and those established by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
