District Sales Manager - New England (Remote)

Job Description If you are a Sales professional, looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! This is a remote-based role in New England - ideally located in Boston, Massachusetts. The territory also includes Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. The Factory Automation District Sales Manager (DSM) will be responsible for leading and growing an established territory covering Factory Automation customers and channel partners.

Responsibilities In this role, your responsibilities include:

Sales Execution

Develop and implement effective sales strategies and plans to exceed sales targets within the assigned territory for the Factory Automation Market.

Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities and market trends and capitalize on them to drive revenue growth.

Build and maintain a sales pipeline, consistently focusing on new customer acquisition, opportunity creation, and closure.

Conduct market research and competitive analysis to stay ahead of the competition.

Customer Relationship Management

Actively engage channel partners with a focus on sales and market share growth; hold them accountable to sales targets, activity levels, and joint business development plans.

Maintain strong relationships with existing Factory Automation key customers.

Understand customer needs, provide technical expertise, and offer solutions that align with their requirements.

Address customer concerns and issues promptly, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Sales Reporting and Forecasting

Prepare regular sales reports, including sales activity, customer feedback, and Factory Automation market trends analysis.

Provide accurate sales forecasts and participate in the annual budgeting process.

Industry Knowledge and Product Expertise

Stay up to date with industry trends, market developments, and emerging technologies related to the FLMC. Key brands include AVENTICS, Numatics, and ASCO.

Collaborate with the FA Business Manager to align new product development with evolving market needs and technological demands.

Develop a deep understanding of the FLMC product portfolio supporting Industrial Automation industries such as Packing, Automotive, Specialty Machinery, etc.

Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to customers, showcasing the value proposition of Emerson's products and solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent industrial sales experience.

Minimum of 2 years of related sales experience.

Technical proficiency with the ability to understand technical issues and troubleshoot problems.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal & negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport, establish trust and close deals.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel and Power Point.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Valid U.S. driver's license.

Willingness and ability to travel 25% - 35%, with overnight and extended travel days within the assigned territory.

Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.

Salesforce experience.

Automation sales experience.

Mechanical, electrical, or fluid power technical aptitude.

Fluid Power Specialist Certification.

Physical Demands Sitting, walking, talking in person and by phone or video, traveling by car, plane, and/or train. Extensive use of computer equipment and Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint. Pay and Benefits Salary range: $90,000 - $110,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to the role. We provide competitive compensation, integrated benefits offerings, tuition reimbursement, 401(k), and more.
