Position Overview We are seeking a Community Outreach Specialist to support transportation and infrastructure projects, including projects that are under construction. This role focuses on public information and stakeholder coordination related to roadway construction projects.
The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience in community outreach, public information, communications, or government relations. Experience related to transportation, infrastructure, construction, or public‑sector projects is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement public information and outreach plans for construction and infrastructure projects
Identify and engage key stakeholders including residents, businesses and community leaders
Organize and support public meetings, open houses, pop‑up events, and outreach activities related to construction
Develop public information materials including fact sheets, newsletters, presentations, and digital content
Support project‑related social media, email campaigns, and website updates
Ensure public messaging is clear, accurate, culturally appropriate, and accessible
Serve as a point of contact for public inquiries related to project activities and impacts
Coordinate with government agencies, contractors, and project teams to align outreach efforts with project milestones
Track outreach activities and engagement metrics
Prepare summary reports documenting outreach efforts, public feedback, and community concerns
Qualifications & Requirements
2+ years of experience in transportation construction public information.
Understanding of MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) public notification requirements.
Experience working on CEI teams or with Design‑Build projects.
Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving community needs.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with social media platforms and design tools (Canva, Adobe Suite, etc.).
