OVERVIEW:
The Shock Top Marketing Intern supports consumer communications, cultural activation, social content, sales enablement, and program operations to drive brand relevance and trial. This role is hands‑on and cross‑functional—partnering with brand, comms, social, legal/compliance, procurement, agencies, and sales/wholesaler teams—while learning to operate in Shock Top’s brand voice and at the speed of culture.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Consumer Communications (Inbox & Brand Voice)
Learn Shock Top’s voice and tone guide; apply it consistently in email responses and templated replies. Triage consumer emails: categorize, determine urgency, and route to correct owners (e.g., legal, PR, CX, sales, product). Draft response templates for common inquiries; track updates in a template library. Surface weekly insights (top themes, sentiment, issues).
Strategic & Conceptual Marketing Support (1YP)
Participate in concepting sessions for priority brand moments (e.g., seasonal peaks, cultural tentpoles). Ideate on concepts and support in outlining plans and notes as needed. Support milestone tracking and stakeholder updates.
Sweepstakes & Sampling Fulfillment
Coordinate prize procurement, winner communications, and logistics with approved fulfillment partners. Ensure all sweepstakes executions meet legal, regulatory, age‑gate, and alcohol marketing requirements. Maintain asset checklists for prize kits, sample kits, media kits. Track budget and unit economics.
Social Media Ideation & Content Support
Pitch timely, brand‑safe content ideas tied to cultural moments/zeitgeist, holidays, tentpoles, and dayparts/occasions relevant to Shock Top consumption. Develop low‑lift content drafts (copy suggestions, meme formats, moodboards) in the Shock Top voice. Track performance vs. benchmarks with Social Media Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Working towards a marketing / advertising degree is preferred Must be 21 years of age or older Must have an interest in beer Knowledge or proficiency / willingness to learn design programs (Adobe Suite, PowerPoint, Canva) Social Media proficiency, posting / commenting / the basics Willingness to brainstorm, ideate, kick ideas around Curious about the beer industry CPG / Beverage alc space, learn more and have a good time
