The Position
The Music Publishing Marketing internship will provide meaningful and educational real-world experience within the scope of an independent music publishing company. Reservoir’s objective in hosting all interns is to provide valuable preparation for a professional career in the entertainment industry. Reservoir’s internship program is a maximum 12-week, part time, paid program and students may earn college credit upon completion of the internship.
This internship will run from June 1st - Aug 21st.
The role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities. Assisting in the production and publication of content for company web properties to promote Reservoir and its roster and catalog, including drafting news stories, e-newsletters, and social media posts, as well as creating custom graphics and video assets. Researching and brainstorming new and emerging digital marketing platforms, tools, and strategies to support promotional initiatives. Learning to identify and conceptualize promotional opportunities within the music publishing space, while assisting with researching, evaluating, and pitching these opportunities. Assisting with press planning and monitoring, including tracking media coverage and identifying relevant press opportunities. Qualifications
Undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in music business, marketing, communications, advertising, or a related program. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, combined with exceptional attention to detail and a thoughtful, solutions-oriented approach to tasks. Genuine interest in the music industry, combined with a positive attitude, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive approach to learning. Exceptional organizational skills and reliability, with the ability to take initiative and maintain a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced environment. Must have experience with social media/content creation on social platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Discord, Reddit). Must have video/photo editing experience and be comfortable using software like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite and CapCut. Strong writing skills preferred. Equal Employment Opportunity
