Job Summary Reporting to the senior leader of Community Engagement, the Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator is responsible for providing operational support for community engagement and outreach initiatives including partnerships, communications, programs and other events that reflect UVA Community Health’s commitment to cultivating healthy communities and belonging for all. The coordinator closely partners with the Community Engagement Program Managers in event planning and execution, volunteer coordination, outcome tracking and reporting. The Coordinator must possess and demonstrate effective application of the following skillsets: relationship building, decision making, task execution and accountability, information tracking and reporting.
Responsibilities Communication
Communicates effectively with all levels of authority, community partners and other team members in executing priorities of the role
Helps support preparation of communications and updates for leadership groups, as needed.
Acknowledges and routes inquiries for community engagement and outreach support.
Maintains department intranet page
Financial Management
Collects and processes invoices and other payment related requests for the department
Ensures payments are aligned to proper cost center, expense code and have supporting documentation as needed
Submits own expense reports, as needed, for business expense reimbursement
Supply Management
Order, organize and maintain supply areas for outreach events, as needed to support CE program managers
Compile supply “kits” to be used for outreach events
Consistently looks for ways to be good steward of supply resources
Event Management
Work closely with CE program managers to identify event details and needs and support event planning and execution
Develop repeatable playbook for planning and execution of like sized events
Support volunteer tracking and management processes
Make recommendations on event management process improvements and implement when supported
Collaborate with CE Program Managers and internal leaders on outreach opportunities
Reporting Management
Collaborate with CE Program Managers in capturing event details for CBISA tracking and reporting purposes
Collaborate with CE Program Managers on CBIP tracking and reporting
Qualifications Education High School diploma / GED (associates Degree preferred)
Experience Minimum of two years of experience in administrative setting, including event planning and execution and expense tracking and management. Hospital or healthcare system experience, preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.

Additional Skills/Requirements Required Proven track record of success in administrative task execution and event planning management. Ability to multi-task while gathering, collecting, consolidating, and reporting various monthly and annual summary reports from various sources of information. Ability to effectively communicate with peers and professionals. General working knowledge of UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper improvement strategies. Experience with Word, Excel, and Power Point software.
Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred Familiarity with Community Benefit Inventory for Social Accountability (CBISA) Software.
Physical Demands Physical Demand Code 6A, Customer Service
Work Function/Activity Sedentary to Light Physical Demand. The job requires frequent sitting and standing, occasional walking, and bending/stooping. Frequent repetitive arm, hand, and finger movements. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 20 lbs. occasionally. This job description may not include all assigned duties, responsibilities, or aspects of the job described.
