Description
The Account Manager will work closely with (FORD) and internal teams to support commercial activity related to suspension: Shocks/Struts and other chassis products. Inherit a well‑established Tier 1 account with Ford. Account management responsibilities include acting as a main point of contact for customers, ensuring timely responses to customer inquiries, preparing sales reports and summaries, identifying growth opportunities, and working closely with internal teams to manage commercial activity related to the suspension products. The ideal candidate should be self‑motivated and open to learning suspension/chassis product specifications and manufacturing processes to communicate confidently with knowledgeable customers.
Job Responsibilities
Resolve daily commercial issues
Interface with OEM engineering, purchasing, and cost analysis teams
Build and maintain strong customer relationships
Support commercial aspects of product development and design changes
Coordinate and complete customer quotations
Support customer visits to manufacturing sites and sales offices globally
Support program launches and customer milestones
Analyze costs and pricing for customer suspension applications
Receive, verify, and manage customer purchase orders
Maintain the sales budget for the FORD suspension account
Support customer cost breakdown activities
Understand customer’s organization, program milestones, and key deliverables
Requirements
Experience working with FORD is required
Strong/Excellent analytical (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and communication skills
Well organized, inquisitive, and independent
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while paying strict attention to detail
Proficient in MS Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint, Salesforce
Availability for travel, including international
Additionally, the ability to work independently with minimal direction is required as are strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience Education: Possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering or business
Experience: 7+ years’ experience in sales, engineering, program management, or business development. Automotive chassis experience preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities May be required to supervise the duties of others to perform the job responsibilities as designated by area/department management to ensure project success/deliverables.
Working Conditions Physical Demands:
Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Travel Domestic and international travel may be required as needed.
Work Environment Primarily in a professional business office with exposure to testing areas and periodic exposure to manufacturing environments.
