Campus Web Intern: SEO & Analytics

UNDERGRADUATE EDUCATION (BL-VPUE-IUBLA)

Undergraduate Education (UE) is looking for a detail-oriented and strategic Web Intern to support our ongoing efforts to improve and consolidate content on the university's digital platforms. In this role, you will use Site Improve and Google Analytics (among other tools) to enhance user experience, optimize SEO performance, and ensure that content is effective and aligned with university initiatives. This position will report to marketing and work in collaboration with IT.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

Assists with website redesign efforts to consolidate content and improve user experience and SEO performance. Conducts research on existing website content, identifying redundant or outdated materials, and making recommendations for updates or improvements. Uses analytics tools to track user behavior, engagement metrics, and content performance on the website. Helps implement technical strategies to attract target audiences, improve content visibility, and increase conversions. Uses AI to audit existing content and map website structures. Participates in training opportunities related to digital marketing, web accessibility, and analytics tools, applying new skills to real-world projects. Collaborates with the marketing team to develop new website content that aligns with university goals and supports target audience engagement. Maintains effective, constant, open and positive communication, both written and oral, with all involved parties. Works in Site Improve to optimize websites owned and maintained by UE.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Familiar with content management systems (CMS) like Cascade and analytics tools Understanding of SEO best practices and digital marketing fundamentals Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Interest in higher education and the desire to help IU enhance its digital presence Must be willing to learn new software and systems as needed Effective time management, working under pressure to meet deadlines, and a collaborative mindset are essential Interest in learning Indiana University¿s (IU) content management system

Preferred

Experience with analytics research, website content management, or digital marketing Passionate about highlighting the Hoosier experience for prospective and incoming students Skilled in systematically researching existing content and identifying opportunities for improvement

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

The intern in this position will become proficient at auditing and improving web pages.
