A Day in the Life of the Community Engagement Manager The Community Engagement Manager strengthens local market presence through strategic partnerships, grassroots marketing initiatives, sponsorships, and community programs that drive brand awareness, consideration, and customer acquisition. The role translates national campaigns into hyper‑local activations that generate demand and support field sales growth, positioning Astound as the most consumer‑friendly, community‑focused broadband provider in our markets.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute local community engagement strategies aligned with company growth priorities (new build, MDU, market expansion, upgrades).

Identify and secure strategic partnerships with schools, universities, chambers, local nonprofits, property managers, and community organizations.

Manage sponsorship portfolio and ensure measurable ROI.

Represent Astound at key community events and forums.

Support government relations strategies.

Provide strategic guidance to local General Managers, working with PR agencies on interviews and spotlight opportunities.

Plan and execute grassroots activations including street teams, brand ambassadors, campus activations, MDU events, and Back to School / Fall Rush campaigns.

Align event strategy with Direct Sales Rep presence and local sales initiatives.

Ensure all activations integrate digital capture tactics (QR, retargeting, sweepstakes, email opt‑ins).

Lead coordination of logistics, vendors, materials, and budget management.

Partner with Field Sales Managers and GTM to prioritize low‑penetration buildings and new build zones.

Support market expansion initiatives and localized launch events.

Align community programming with promotional strategy (Price for Life, flash sales, etc.).

Provide field teams with event kits, signage, and activation playbooks.

Collaborate with Social Media team to amplify community activations.

Partner with PR to leverage community involvement for earned media opportunities.

Work with Marketing Ops to track leads, performance metrics, and attribution.

Ensure brand standards and messaging consistency across all activations.

Manage community engagement budgets across assigned markets.

Track KPIs and deliver post‑event performance reporting.

Optimize spend based on ROI and subscriber impact.

Actively support, promote, and advance all aspects of Astound's Inclusion and Belonging work.

Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Table

5‑8+ years managing strategic marketing strategy in telecom, subscription, or high‑volume acquisition businesses.

3+ years working in a competitive environment and/or with a challenger brand.

Experience managing $10M+ performance budgets (preferred).

Experience leveraging AI tools to automate or enhance analysis (preferred).

Expertise in developing and executing full‑funnel marketing strategies that drive measurable growth.

Advanced analytical, forecasting, and data interpretation skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.

Proven ability to scale customer acquisition efficiently through data‑driven optimization.

Strong proficiency in Excel and comfort working with large datasets.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Skill in distilling complex data into clear, actionable insights that inform marketing and business decisions.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong organization and clarity in messaging.

High attention to detail and a customer‑centric mindset.

Strategic thinker with strong local‑market execution capabilities.

Strong collaboration and cross‑functional leadership skills, with the ability to influence without authority.

Results‑oriented approach, focusing on measurable performance and continuous improvement.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Bachelor's degree preferred (Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, or related fields).

Base Compensation The base compensation range for this position is $85,000 - $137,000 plus opportunities for additional benefits. Actual pay may vary based on location, skills, experience, and capabilities.
