Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Channel Merchant for Kids Sportswear Footwear (North America) to support parental leave coverage.

This role focuses on delivering consumer-driven merchandising strategies, with a strong emphasis on footwear, trend analysis, and marketplace insights.

The ideal candidate will analyze trend forecasts, understand consumer behavior, and translate insights into actionable assortment strategies.

They will partner closely with Sales and cross-functional teams to develop seasonal plans, optimize product allocation, and drive performance across channels.

This is a fast-paced, high-visibility role requiring strong presentation skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to influence large audiences.

Roles & Responsibilities

Analyze consumer trends, market data, and lifestyle insights to inform merchandising strategies.

Develop and execute channel-specific assortment plans for kids' sportswear footwear.

Collaborate with Sales teams to provide city-level and channel-specific product insights.

Build multi-season merchandising strategies, including capacity planning and tiering.

Translate product strategies into actionable assortment plans aligned with consumer demand.

Partner with cross-functional teams including Sales, Planning, Brand, and Analytics.

Lead and support Go-To-Market (GTM) and sales meetings with clear storytelling and product narratives.

Deliver impactful presentations to large audiences (50–100 stakeholders) on a regular cadence.

Leverage performance metrics (sales, inventory, bookings) to drive in-season and future decisions.

Manage multiple seasons simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and execution excellence.

Provide continuous feedback and insights to improve merchandising strategies and processes.

Must Have

Strong experience in footwear merchandising (mandatory); kids or apparel experience is a plus.

Background in marketplace merchandising within leading retail or consumer product companies.

Understanding of retail dynamics and what drives success in competitive marketplaces.

Ability to confidently present to large audiences and create engaging, influential presentations.

Strong analytical skills with experience in retail metrics (sell-through, inventory, margin, etc.).

Experience translating consumer and sales insights into actionable strategies.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with high ownership.

Nice to Have

Understanding of lifestyle and trend insights across major cities (e.g., Atlanta, Detroit, Chicago).

Knowledge of retail sales operations and channel dynamics.

Experience working with sportswear or youth-focused product segments.

Exposure to seasonal planning and assortment tiering strategies.

Adaptability and willingness to learn in a rapidly changing environment.
