Reports to:

This position reports to the Director of Business Recruitment and Retention and is appointed by the CEO.

Position Purpose The Marketing & Communications Manager plays a critical role in promoting Cheyenne and Laramie County as a premier location for business investment and growth. This position is responsible for developing high-quality marketing materials, campaigns, and communications that showcase the region’s strengths to prospective businesses, site selectors, and community stakeholders.

This is a fast-paced, production-focused role that requires a highly motivated professional capable of producing a high volume of work while maintaining exceptional quality and brand consistency. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, constantly evolving environment.

The position requires strong graphic design skills, particularly in Adobe InDesign, along with the ability to manage multiple marketing initiatives simultaneously while supporting the broader mission of economic development in Cheyenne and Laramie County.

Key Responsibilities Marketing & Communications

Develop, design, and produce professional marketing materials.

Maintain and enhance the Cheyenne LEADS brand across all communications.

Create campaigns utilizing both traditional and digital marketing channels.

Maintain and update the Cheyenne LEADS website, ensuring content is current.

Coordinate and produce news releases, announcements, and promotional materials.

Produce the organization’s Annual Report, membership materials, and other key publications.

Graphic Design & Creative Production

Design high-quality print and digital materials using Adobe Creative Suite, with strong emphasis on Adobe InDesign.

Create content and develop layouts for reports, presentations, marketing collateral, and promotional materials.

Ensure brand consistency and visual excellence across all communications.

Continuously identify new and creative ways to visually promote Cheyenne and Laramie County.

Assist with the coordination and tracking of organizational fundraising efforts and campaigns.

Develop marketing and communication materials that support fundraising initiatives, including digital, print, and presentation materials.

Help coordinate messaging, timelines, and outreach efforts associated with fundraising campaigns.

Track campaign activity, sponsorship outreach, and donor engagement efforts.

Work collaboratively with leadership to ensure fundraising communications align with LEADS’ brand and strategic messaging.

Support the organization of fundraising-related events and initiatives as needed.

Digital Marketing & Analytics

Manage and track marketing performance using Google Analytics, social media insights.

Monitor campaign performance and adjust strategies to improve results.

Produce semi-annual/annual marketing performance reports for the Board of Directors.

Events & Community Engagement

Assist in planning and executing LEADS events including: Board of Directors meetings

Other marketing and community events

Develop invitations, promotional materials, and event communications.

Assist with sponsorship outreach and coordination.

Support other staff members as needed.

Membership & Communications

Maintain membership records and communications platforms.

Coordinate monthly CEO and membership updates via Constant Contact or similar platforms.

Maintain a record of marketing campaigns, timelines, and project deliverables.

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

Exceptional work ethic and productivity, with the ability to manage a high volume of projects.

Strong graphic design capabilities, particularly Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

Excellent layout and print design skills.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-moving, constantly changing environment.

Strong organizational and project management skills.

Creative problem-solving ability and initiative.

Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience with social media platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.

Experience with website updates and content management.

Video and multimedia experience is a plus.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Education and Training

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, or related field preferred.

Experience in economic development, business development, marketing, or similar organizations is a plus.

Work Culture This is a full-time, in-office position requiring collaboration with the LEADS team and community partners. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment where occasional evening work may be required for events, programs, or public meetings. This position is part of a hands‑on team that works together to support the economic growth of Cheyenne and Laramie County. Monthly Board of Directors meetings are held at 7:00 a.m.
