Mission For Copywriter:

To build

brand equity

and

drive client revenue

through strategic, customer‑aligned copywriting that resonates with the target audience, reflects brand voice, and enhances email performance. This role blends research, creativity, and e‑commerce fluency to create compelling content at scale.

Market Research & Brand Understanding

Thoroughly review the

client onboarding form , listen to the

onboarding call

(if available), and extract key positioning statements and objectives.

Explore all brand touchpoints: website, About Us, FAQs, shipping/returns pages, and social media presence to gather brand tone, customer experience language, and business model.

Audit the

Facebook Ad Library

(if applicable) to understand ad messaging, offers, and creative angles that have been tested.

Apply the Market Research SOP on ClickUp.

Ask insightful strategic questions: Is the brand DTC, B2B, or hybrid? Is it a one‑product brand or catalog‑driven store? High ticket product vs low ticket? ($1000+ vs $50)? Is the focus more conversion/sales‑driven or brand‑story/emotional connection? Who is the core customer demographic (age, gender, psychographics)? What are their key pain points, emotional triggers, and desired transformations? What does the customer journey look like?

Ecommerce Fluency & Conversion Strategy

Understand the difference between pre‑purchase (acquisition) flows and post‑purchase (retention) flows, and how messaging, tone, and CTA strategy must adapt accordingly.

Pre‑purchase flows:

(e.g., Welcome, Abandoned Cart, Browse Abandonment) focus on building trust, eliminating objections, and driving the first conversion.

Post‑purchase flows:

(e.g., Post‑Purchase, Replenishment, Winback) focus on increasing lifetime value (LTV), reinforcing the brand promise, and creating emotional loyalty.

Use our

Miro flow map

or swipefile Figmas to understand where each flow fits in the journey, and how to personalize it for brands of different models.

Copy Creation & Execution

Read, create, and interpret briefs effectively for campaigns and flows. Place the copy in its appropriate context (product launches, promotions, content highlights, holidays, etc.).

Focus most effort on subject lines/preview text and the top fold of the email, because customers who don’t open the email never see the rest. Ensure visual hierarchy and scannability with clear sections: header, subheader, CTA, and supporting content.

Ensure all product references include proper links for the design team and clearly communicate when a specific layout or product display is needed.

Prompt Engineering & AI Efficiency

AI is a tool, an extension of the copywriter. Focus on creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving.

Use AI to perform heavy lifting but guide it with clarity and strategic insight. Turn AI snippets into compelling, high‑converting email copy.

KPI:

Write a piece of email copy within 15 minutes (four pieces per hour) without compromising quality once market research is complete.

Brand‑Aligned Copy That Builds Brand Equity & Drives Email Revenue

Achieve this through market research, brand understanding, and creating targeted email content aligned with client objectives.

Daily Execution of Fulfillment & Team Management

Check ClickUp daily, claim and complete tasks proactively, flag blockers early, and follow internal workflows for copy reviews, approvals, and revisions.

Complete daily administrative check‑ins, including the End of Day (EOD) and Standard Work Check List (SWCL) forms to maintain visibility, accountability, and clarity across all accounts and projects.

Communicate with your pod's Account Manager to gather necessary information about the client and ensure timely delivery of priority tasks.

Respond to team members in a timely manner; urgent requests require fast action.

Participate in Slack discussions, team meetings, and async workflows.

Team Collaboration & Culture

Work within a creative team, collaborating with designers, account managers, and contributing to a positive team culture.

Ownership & Customer Focus

Treat client accounts as your own business. Genuinely care for the business and its customers, not just writing copy for the sake of writing copy.

Always consider what the customer wants, not what you want. Avoid unnecessary risks; sometimes a neutral approach is best.

Attention to Detail & Critical Thinking

Ensure precision in grammar, formatting, and tone; the smallest mistake can erode trust or cost conversions.

Accept feedback from others and yourself; continuously critique your work and seek improvement.

Strategically balance brand equity with revenue generation.
