Position Information
Position Title: Program Assistant Director, Recreational Sports Department Campus Recreation
Location: Arlington
Position Status: Full-time
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Salary: Up to $60,000 per year (commensurate with qualifications)
Job Summary The Program Assistant Director is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive Intramural Sports and Sport Club program.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Manage the Coordinator for Sport Programs, a full-time staff person
Administer comprehensive intramural sports leagues and events, which include 17 team sports and 27 individual and dual sports for men’s, women’s and co-recreational participation
Administer a comprehensive sport club program which currently includes more than 20 active clubs
Hire, schedule, supervise, and train around 50 Sport Programs Student Staff
Manage area technological needs; manage area/departmental assessment including surveys, student learning outcomes, and goals and objectives
Plan and conduct departmental and campus-wide special events
Market the Sport Programs area using a wide variety of techniques
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Leisure Studies or related field.
Four (4) years of experience in Recreational Sports or a Master’s degree in Recreation, Exercise Science, or a related field and two (2) years of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree, NIRSA Certification, CPR and First Aid Certification, Management of Sports Programming.
Direct experience with Collegiate Sport Clubs, Direct experience working with collegiate Intramural Sports.
Experience in sport officiating.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must possess ability to operate general office equipment and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
CPR certified or able to acquire within 6 months of employment.
Other Requirements
Typical for recreational programs.
