Northeast Family Services is seeking an experienced Healthcare Contracting Specialist to support the agency’s growing network of behavioral health services. This role is responsible for helping manage and maintain payer and provider contracts that support our clinical programs across multiple states.

will assist in negotiating reimbursement rates, maintaining payer relationships, ensuring contract compliance, and supporting credentialing and contracting activities. This position works closely with leadership, credentialing staff, and finance teams to ensure contracts support efficient service delivery and sustainable reimbursement.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in behavioral health contracting, managed care, or healthcare administration who enjoys working both independently and collaboratively.

This is a remote, part-time position, but you must reside in NH, RI, MA, or NY.

Duties And Responsibilities

Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with insurance payers and partner organizations

Support the development and maintenance of reimbursement agreements for behavioral health services

Maintain organized contract records and ensure timely updates, renewals, and amendments

Collaborate with internal teams including credentialing, finance, and program leadership to ensure contract terms are properly implemented

Monitor contract compliance with state and federal regulations, payer requirements, and organizational policies

Assist in analyzing reimbursement rates, contract terms, and payer policies to support organizational strategy

Serve as a point of contact for contracting-related inquiries from internal teams and external partners

Support credentialing and payer enrollment processes as needed

Assist with preparation for payer audits and contract reviews

Track contracting timelines and maintain accurate documentation related to payer agreements

Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Health Information Management, or related field preferred

Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare contracting, payer relations, or healthcare administration

Minimum 1 years of experience in behavioral health strongly preferred

Experience working with managed care organizations, commercial payers, and behavioral health reimbursement models required

Strong knowledge of healthcare contracting, payer policies, and regulatory requirements

Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills

Strong analytical and organizational abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Must reside in NH, MA, RI, or NY

Hours / Compensation Part Time, 20 hours per week.

Hourly range: $34 - $48 / hour
