Summary It is the responsibility of the
Lead Part-Time Freight Ops
to performs a lead role on the team while working alongside the show site freight staff laborers. Plays a lead role on smaller shows consisting of less than 100,000 lbs. Spends more than 50% of the time performing the same work as the team they are leading. Professionally interacts with customers, team members, and third‑party vendor/partner representatives to provide the highest level of service excellence.
Support a safe work environment by following all safety policies and procedures, taking personal responsibility for safety, reporting hazards or concerns promptly, and contributing to a culture that prioritizes safety every day.
This position will support our Event & Exhibit Services team. The position follows an in‑person schedule working in‑office and/or show‑site based out of Las Vegas, NV.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lead dock labor at show site by assigning qualified personnel to perform work to be done.
Adhere to safe operations practices to reduce and control safety violations.
Lead loading and unloading show site dock operations at show site.
Professionally interact with customers, sales, and operatons staff to provide the best customer service experience.
Ensure that equipment and tools needed to produce the assigned show is in place and ready for use. Advise show lead of any additional equipment needs that may arise.
Remove malfunctioning equipment from service and assists with the return of equipment after the assigned show is cleared.
Ensure that labor needs have been requested and submitted.
Follow set hours of operation and labor at show site.
Ensure that all paperwork procedures are followed as outlined in the Freight Procedures Manual.
Confirm that advance freight delivery to show site has been arranged.
Ensure that job costs are kept to a minimum without sacrificing service to customers.
Provide excellent customer service and protect company against any liabilities.
Produce accurate and timely payroll forms and time cards for hours worked on assigned shows.
Participate in corporate, branch, and freight operations training. Participate in and lead show site safety and customer service meetings.
Comply with all policies and procedures set forth by Freeman.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Complete required safety training and apply safe work practices at all times.
Immediately report any workplace accidents, near misses, hazards, or unsafe conditions to a manager or through an appropriate reporting channel.
Participate in safety discussions and communicate concerns or feedback openly to help maintain a safe work environment.
Use tools, equipment, and protective gear properly to prevent injuries and incidents.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Two year’s of trade show or related experience is required.
Should be familiar with: Freight Procedures Manual, Freight Operations Page on the Resouce, Pre-show Planning Guides, Post-show Recaps, TSS Freight Reports, Exhibitor Kit Forms, Floor Plans, Return to Warehouse Manifests, Incident Reports and Claim Forms.
Should be familiar with: material handling rates, show rules and regulations, association requirements, and invoice collections.
Must be able to pass the MVR screen.
Basic understanding of workplace safety practices and applicable OSHA requirements.
Ability to consistently follow safety rules and contribute to a positive safety culture.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations OSHA 10 Certification required.
