POSITION SUMMARY
The Purchasing Agent 1 is the first level management of the procurement processes and functions needed to support the manufacturing and aftermarket efforts of White River Marine Group.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Verifies purchase indicators, initiates purchase orders, and oversees delivery.
Supports and develops collaborative supplier relationships to ensure reliable supply chains.
Measures, analyzes, and manages key aspects of supplier performance.
Monitors shortage and exception reporting to identify and execute expedite needs.
Performs root cause analysis and aid in the implementation of corrective actions.
Monitors inventory levels to optimize supply chain efficiency.
Communicates aspect of procurement functions with cross functional business units, including: Logistics, Inventory Control, Sourcing, Engineering, Bill of Materials, and Accounting teams.
ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Prior experience in logistics, material management and manufacturing
APICS Certification preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
Excellent digital literacy
Keen sense of urgency
Detail-oriented with great organizational and analytical abilities.
Well rounded communication skills
Familiarity with logistics, production processes, materials management and marine industries
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Minimal; 0% - 5%
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Regular computer work, and sitting
Occasional walking, standing, and lifting
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT
Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
