HIRING: Senior BIM Specialist (Fully Remote – Mechanical Contractor Experience Required) Job Description

We are seeking a Senior BIM Specialist to join our team in a 100% fully remote, production‑focused role. This position is intended for candidates who are currently working for a mechanical contractor and are deeply experienced in hands‑on BIM production supporting fabrication and installation. This role is for a high-output individual contributor, not a project or people manager. The Senior BIM Specialist will be responsible for translating design intent, contract documents, and/or 3D design models of piping and mechanical systems into highly detailed BIM models and shop drawings used directly for fabrication and field installation. Responsibilities

Produce detailed LOD 400 BIM models for mechanical and plumbing systems using fabrication-based workflows Translate contract documents, specifications, and submittals into constructible models and drawings Create detailed shop, spool, hanger, and sleeve drawings for fabrication and installation Annotate and maintain drawing sets to clearly communicate fabrication and installation intent Export hanger and sleeve coordinates for robotic total station field layout Generate RFIs when required to resolve constructability or coordination issues Coordinate closely with internal project teams, engineers, and field personnel to support construction execution Participate in coordination meetings (primarily virtual) with GCs and other trades to resolve clashes and spatial constraints Maintain accurate, up-to-date models reflecting current field conditions and approved changes Follow established BIM/VDC standards, workflows, and quality requirements Support schedule-driven deliverables by consistently producing high-quality BIM and drawing outputs Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience currently working for a mechanical contractor in a BIM, VDC, or fabrication modeling role Strong hands‑on experience supporting mechanical or plumbing system installation (construction‑focused, not design‑only) Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Fabrication CADmep, and Autodesk Navisworks Proven ability to independently produce accurate, constructible models and shop drawings Strong understanding of construction documents, specifications, and coordination processes Ability to manage multiple production tasks while meeting project deadlines Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 – $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
