Position Overview
The Junior Purchaser supports the procurement team by assisting with sourcing, ordering, and tracking materials and components needed for manufacturing and distribution operations. This is an entry‑level role designed to provide hands‑on experience in supply chain and purchasing while ensuring timely, accurate, and cost‑effective procurement aligned with production needs.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in sourcing and purchasing raw materials, components, and services based on production schedules and inventory levels
Create, manage, and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and accurate pricing
Communicate with suppliers to confirm order status, resolve discrepancies, and follow up on delayed shipments
Maintain accurate procurement data in ERP systems, including pricing, lead times, and part specifications
Support inventory control through cycle counts and stock level monitoring
Collaborate with production, planning, and engineering teams to align purchasing with operational requirements
Assist in identifying new suppliers and obtaining quotes for parts and materials
Participate in cost‑saving initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and procurement standards
Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
1–2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain (manufacturing or distribution environment preferred)
Strong organizational and communication skills
Basic understanding of purchasing processes, inventory control, and ERP systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Detail‑oriented with a proactive, team‑focused approach
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Global Shop ERP or similar systems
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and supply chain best practices
Exposure to supplier negotiations or contract management
Familiarity with domestic and international sourcing
Experience in build‑to‑order or custom manufacturing environments
APICS certification (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is a plus
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Combination of office and warehouse environment
May require standing or walking for extended periods (4–6 hours)
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
Exposure to moderate noise levels in warehouse areas
No regular travel required
This is an on‑site position
