Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Behavior Intervention Specialist, located in New York, NY. The Behavior Intervention Specialist will assess, design, implement, and monitor individualized behavioral intervention strategies to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include conducting behavioral assessments, developing intervention plans, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and training staff and caregivers to ensure consistent implementation across settings. The role plays a crucial part in enhancing the quality of life and promoting independence for the individuals served.
Qualifications
Strong background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Behavioral Intervention methodologies
Educational or professional experience in Psychology and Education
Excellent Communication skills for collaboration with individuals, families, and team members
Ability to analyze data and adjust behavioral plans as needed
Certification as a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) or progress toward certification is a plus
A Master’s degree in Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, Education, or a related field is highly preferred
Empathy, patience, and a commitment to helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and guidelines related to behavioral services in New York State
