Position Summary The Senior Relationship Manager, Supplier Performance Management is a senior individual contributor responsible for leading the development and delivery of actionable supplier performance insights through the Enterprise Supplier Performance Review (ESPR) program. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy and judgment, translating complex qualitative and quantitative feedback into business relevant intelligence that informs supplier strategy, performance improvement, and sourcing decisions across CVS Health. This position partners closely with senior internal stakeholders and supplier executives, regularly representing ESPR insights in vendor business reviews and other strategic forums. It is not a traditional analytics role; success requires vendor management, sourcing or category management experience, strong business judgment, and the ability to influence decisions through insight and narrative rather than authority.
Key Accountabilities Strategic Insight Development and Delivery
Serve as the primary owner of ESPR derived insights, intelligence, and reporting delivered to business owners and supplier stakeholders for a set of categories.
Interpret and synthesize ESPR feedback alongside performance trends, risk indicators, contract context, and compliance considerations to produce actionable, real world insights.
Develop executive level narratives and materials that clearly articulate implications, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
Evolve ESPR outputs from descriptive scorecards to forward looking intelligence that supports proactive decision making.
Stakeholder and Supplier Influence
Lead ESPR driven discussions in vendor business reviews and performance reviews, engaging supplier leadership with data backed perspectives.
Partner with category leaders and functional stakeholders to ensure insights are understood, credible, and applied in decision making.
Challenge assumptions and established viewpoints, internally and externally, using sound analysis and business context.
Support supplier action plans and improvement initiatives informed by ESPR findings.
Program Growth, Enablement, and Governance
Contribute to the expansion and maturation of the ESPR program, including increased supplier participation and stakeholder adoption.
Partner with cross functional teams to demonstrate ESPR value and embed insights into sourcing and supplier management processes.
Support the ongoing refinement of ESPR methodologies, benchmarks, and reporting standards.
Participate in ESPR governance, planning, performance tracking, and stakeholder communications, ensuring alignment with regulatory, compliance, and risk requirements.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in sourcing, category management, vendor management, supplier performance management, or a related discipline.
Advanced data interpretation and business storytelling
Strong sourcing and supplier management acumen
Executive presence and influencing skills
Supplier performance, risk, ESG, and compliance literacy
Effective communication across senior internal and external audiences
Preferred Qualifications
Experience engaging suppliers in formal performance reviews
Prior experience as a sourcing or category manager with strong analytical credibility
Experience in regulated or compliance driven environments
Familiarity with supplier performance platforms or third party analytics providers
Education Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Analytics, or a related field; or equivalent years of experience is required
Pay Range $82,940.00 - $182,549.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
