Pond Lehocky is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Brief Writer / Legal Analyst to support our Workers’ Compensation practice. This role is ideal for a strong legal writer who may not be a licensed attorney but has experience analyzing legal issues, drafting persuasive arguments, and working with case materials. The position will focus on preparing high-quality written work product, including briefs and case summaries, to support attorneys in litigation and appeals. Key Responsibilities
Draft legal briefs and other written advocacy documents for workers’ compensation matters Review medical records, deposition transcripts, and case files to identify key facts and issues Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to workers’ compensation claims Collaborate with attorneys to develop case strategies and arguments Summarize complex legal and medical information into clear, concise written materials Assist with appellate filings and compliance with court deadlines and formatting requirements Maintain organized case documentation and research files Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certification or legal studies background is a plus Experience in legal writing, legal analysis, or a related role is preferred Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail Ability to synthesize complex information into persuasive written arguments Experience with workers’ compensation or personal injury law Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) is a plus Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Preferred Skills
Experience drafting appellate briefs or litigation support documents Familiarity with medical terminology and records review Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently while collaborating with legal teams Compensation & Benefits
