About the Role
This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Boston, MA. As a Associate Director of Business Development, you will be a key driver in expanding our commercial presence across the US biotech ecosystem. This role will be sales-oriented, network-driven, and focused on originating and closing business opportunities. Key Responsibilities:
Proactively identify and engage biotech, pharma, and life sciences organizations, particularly in the Boston / Cambridge ecosystem
Leverage existing professional and alumni networks to initiative high-quality, relevant sales conversations
Represent Atombeat at conferences, industry events, and local forums
Sustain pipeline growth by building and maintaining a consistent outbound and follow-up cadence
Own sales opportunities from initial outreach through deal close, with full internal technical and operational support
Lead commercial discussions with prospects, including opportunity qualification and prioritization, alignment on use cases and success criteria, and commercial framing and next-step commitments
Collaborate closely with technical teams to bring the right experts into customer discussions, ensure accurate positioning and delivery, and translate customer needs into project scope
Ensure opportunities convert into signed pilots, subscriptions, or service agreements
Required Qualifications:
4-6 years of business development or sales experience in biotech, life sciences, CROs, or related technology-driven organizations
Masters or PhD in chemistry, biology, pharmaceutical sciences, or related scientific discipline
Demonstrated ability to originate, manage, and close sales opportunities
Ability to explain complex concepts to both scientific and non-scientific stakeholders
Strong communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Established professional network within the Boston / Cambridge biotech ecosystem
Experience in selling discovery stage technologies, research platforms, or scientific services
Prior exposure to computational tools, drug discovery platforms, or advanced research workflows (technical expertise not required)
Bilingual abilities (English, Mandarin) are a plus

Healthy and growing sales pipeline with clear close timelines
Multiple closed deals (pilots, subscriptions, or service engagements)
Consistent conversion of scientific interest into revenue-generating opportunities
Strong internal trust built
