
Marketing Coordinator Part-Time

The Ocean City Department of Tourism is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic Marketing Coordinator to join our team and help bring our destination to life through impactful storytelling and strategic marketing efforts. This is an exciting entry-level, part-time opportunity for someone passionate about tourism, marketing, and creating content that inspires and engages Ocean City’s target audiences.
The Marketing Coordinator will support a wide range of initiatives that promote Ocean City as a premier year-round destination by working collaboratively with internal teams to execute dynamic campaigns and create engaging content for Recreation and Parks, Special Events, Destination Sales and various Ocean City departments. The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where creativity meets strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in the development and implementation of marketing across digital, social, and traditional media platforms. This includes managing multiple social media accounts.
Creates engaging, destination-driven content that brings Ocean City to life across social media platforms, including reels, posts, and visual storytelling, while contributing to the development and organization of a robust, up-to-date media asset library.
Collaborates with internal teams (e.g., Recreation and Parks, Destination Sales, Special Events and other Ocean City Departments) to coordinate and execute marketing campaigns.
Supports the design and production of marketing collateral that enhances campaign storytelling, including digital assets (web banners, social graphics), video content, and print materials such as brochures, flyers, and promotional pieces.
Helps maintain website and social media platforms by updating content, engaging audiences and monitoring performance metrics.
Assists in organizing and attending promotional events and activities, including brand activations, recreation programing and special events.
Monitors marketing trends and competitive landscape to provide insights and recommendations for ongoing campaigns.
Assists with data tracking, reporting, and performance analysis to measure campaign effectiveness and inform future strategies.
Provides general marketing and administrative support to advance departmental goals and initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: This part-time position offers flexible hours, averaging 20–30 hours per week. Some evening, weekend, and holiday hours may be required to support events and campaign execution.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this role successfully, the ideal candidate will bring a combination of creativity, organization, and a passion for tourism and destination marketing.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Tourism, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications Include:
2–4 years of experience in marketing, communications, tourism, or a related field
Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a collaborative environment
Familiarity with website content management and major social media platforms
Basic graphic design experience is preferred.
