
Principal Architect, Technical - Salesforce

The Technical Architect is responsible for Salesforce application design and implementation for Procurement and Supply. While this position includes hands-on development work, it also focuses a majority of the time on technical leadership, which includes code reviews, coaching developers, documenting and evolving coding standards and best practices, participating in advanced troubleshooting of production and pre-production systems, and authoring frameworks and utilities to improve the efficiency of the development staff.Serve as architect, design modifications and provide solutions for our existing salesforce platform.Provide guidance on application and integration development best practices, Enterprise Architecture standards, functional and technical solution architecture & design, environment management, testing, and Salesforce Platform education.Serve as architect, design modifications and provide solutions for our existing salesforce platform.Provide expertise and leadership in solutions architecture in the infrastructureProvide strategic business analysis, planning and implementation as it applies to the Ports and Borders business line of product, and technical challenges and determine additional solutions to be implemented.Identification and pro-active management of risk areas and commitment to seeing an issue through to complete resolution.Document customizations made in SalesforcePlan ahead for upgrades, seasonal releases, salesforce roadmap features, and long term projects.Serve as primary system administrator for the Salesforce environment as currently being used by ports and borders.Focus the organization’s use of data towards what best serves the missionHandle all basic administrative functions including user maintenance, modification of page layouts, generation of reports and dashboards, creation of new fields and other routine tasksGather detailed requests, document design for updates and receive organizational approval for improvements or changes to the system, and implement these changes as appropriate.Automate processes using Salesforce tools such as process builder, approval processes, validation rules, flows, and products such as CPQ and SFS.Manage salesforce integrations implementing them or working with third parties to assist.Train new users and grow the Salesforce skill set across the organizationCoordinate with the different business groups to determine future requirements and ensure updates are appropriate for Procurement & SupplyDesign and implement a release management process to review updates across groups that utilize salesforce.Automate processes using Salesforce tools such as process builder, approval processes, validation rules, flows, and product.At least 18 years of ageLegally authorized to work in the United StatesHigh School Diploma or GEDT-Mobile requires all employees in this position to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work. T-Mobile will require proof of vaccination and consider requests for exemption from this requirement during the offer phase as a reasonable accommodation for medical reasons or sincerely held religious beliefs where the accommodation would not cause T-Mobile undue hardship or pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others.Bachelors Degree In lieu of degree, equivalent industry experience may be considered.7-10 years of Progressive experience in software engineering/enterprise architecture/technology leadership across multiple products, systems and/or platforms coupled with strong business acumen and executive presence.7-10 years Experience working in solutions design and enterprise architecture delivering IT solutions.7-10 years Experience in Enterprise applications, PLM, middle-tier services, database, storage, distributed computing, virtualization and/or application technology.Experience with Software Engineering concepts, Enterprise Architecture and solutions Architecture required.The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position who is based in Colorado is generally within the range of $75000.00 to $150000.00 for annual base salary. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range. Employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of an employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.#LI-RR1Strategy Partners with Developers, Product Owners, and other department groups to evangelize Architecture principals and best practices across the organization. Collaborates across the Enterprise on frameworks and standards Supports product lifecycle from business discussions through test/deploy as it relates to requirement refinement and data designs business needs. Creates scalable, extensible designs (for high complexity initiatives) that are easy to implement and perform and follows architecture standards and enable success for all teams. Proactively identifies, addresses and escalates (if needed) when solutions are overly complex or will compromise implementation. Develops proof-of-concept (POC) and prototypes to help illustrate approaches to technology and business problems.Project Management Works closely with the business during ideation and vision stages of new projects – helping define solution options to drive business case development prior to project funding and start-up. Provides support to Senior Developers and Product Owner on assessments and work-effort estimates for the business and routinely as part of the project intake process for our development team.Relationship and People Management Communicates solution designs clearly in multiple modes of communication – diagrams, documents, verbally. Works with Business and IT partner teams to understand and document system requirements for data, SLAs/service levels, user experience, archiving/legal requirements, training, data governance, and performance. Conducts peer reviews to solicit feedback on materials created.Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.
