Patient Account Representative
The Patient Account Representative plays a crucial role in managing patient billing and account inquiries to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions. This part-time position involves serving as a primary point of contact for patients regarding their account status, payment options, and insurance information. The role requires meticulous attention to detail to verify patient data, process payments, and resolve discrepancies efficiently. By maintaining clear and compassionate communication, the representative helps enhance patient satisfaction and supports the healthcare provider's revenue cycle management. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a customer service or patient account role, preferably in a healthcare setting. Basic knowledge of medical billing and insurance terminology. Proficiency with computer systems and data entry. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities: Respond promptly and professionally to patient inquiries about account balances, billing statements, and payment plans. Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility to ensure accurate billing and minimize claim denials. Process payments, adjustments, and refunds accurately in the patient account system. Collaborate with internal departments such as billing, insurance, and collections to resolve account discrepancies. Maintain detailed records of patient interactions and account activities in compliance with privacy regulations. Monday-Friday, Part-time, Hours 3:00pm to 7:00pm.
