Blast, Paint & General Services Helper
We have 15 openings for Blast, Paint & General Services Helpers. There are 11 positions available for the 1st shift and 4 positions for the 2nd shift. The role involves assisting skilled painters with cleaning and preparing wood or metal surfaces for painting, as well as supporting various tasks across the shipyard. Responsibilities
Assist painters in cleaning and preparing surfaces by removing dirt, grease, rust, scale, and other contaminants. Mask and tape areas not requiring paint. Help paint parts, equipment, and structural surfaces on ships and shipyard buildings. Mix materials in accordance with Product Data Sheets. Inspect prepped and painted areas and perform touch-up work as needed. Set up and operate spray equipment, pneumatic tools, airless pumps, and HVLP spray guns. Dismantle scaffolding of multiple types and perform general shipyard cleanup. Operate high reach equipment and power tools. Move furniture and other equipment as needed. Support tasks related to Painter, Blaster, Carpentry, and Waysman roles. Essential Skills
Knowledge of basic painting applications. Experience with painting, paint preparation, and masking in a shipyard environment. Proficiency with hand tools and general labor tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
