We are looking for a passionate Lead Proposal Writer with comprehensive experience in U.S. Government and commercial proposals. This role is part of the Strategy & Business Development's Capture Operations & Excellence Group, which supports our most critical bids across the organization. You will collaborate directly with Capture Executives, Solution Architects, and Technical and Management Volume Leads to create compelling and compliant proposal documents that drive successful outcomes.

This position requires working onsite at our headquarters in Reston, VA during live proposals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Solution Architects and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to clearly articulate solutions and corporate experience in response to proposal requirements, emphasizing Why Leidos.
  • Lead the writing of responses for technical, management, corporate experience, staffing rationale, resumes, and transition sections.
  • Work in a team-oriented environment to effectively communicate solutions, strategies, approach, experience, win themes, and distinguishing factors.
  • Utilize communication and interviewing skills to gather and support writing activities with information from internal and external sources.
  • Create clear, engaging, and persuasive proposal sections; simplify complex ideas into understandable text.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance overall proposal quality.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 12 years of professional experience, or a Master's Degree with 10+ years of experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a proposal writer for Federal Government solicitations valued at $100M or more.
  • Proven track record of producing high-quality, successful proposals.
  • Experienced in writing and leading technical, management, transition, staffing, and corporate experience volumes for complex projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the role.
  • Ability to work onsite for live proposal scenarios.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Federal Government proposals, especially FEDSIM.
  • Experience with traditional video, live presentations, or demonstration proposals.
  • Understanding of Generative AI tools to enhance proposal writing.
  • Active Secret or Top-Secret security clearance with eligibility for SCI.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00

This pay range is a general guideline, and various factors such as responsibilities, education, experience, and skills will be considered in extending an offer.
