Position Purpose: The Graphic Designer & Production Artist is responsible for the production, localization, and creative execution of visual assets across print, digital, and video platforms. This role is primarily production-focused, with core responsibilities centered on adapting and localizing provided tour art packages (admats) and assets into venue-specific marketing materials quickly, accurately, and at high volume. In addition to production work, the Graphic Designer leads original creative development for major organizational initiatives, as well as various concerts and artistic events throughout the season. The designer owns the design and production of Broadway show programs and playbills throughout the season. Video and motion content work includes short-form social content for social and digital channels, as well as motion graphics, light animation, and localization of artist-supplied video assets for promotional use.
Supporting the full Marketing & Sales team, this role requires the ability to manage concurrent shows and events annually, pivot quickly between projects, and maintain organized archives of art, photo, and design assets. The ideal candidate is fast, detail-oriented, and equally comfortable working within established brand systems and building original creative from scratch.

Key Performance Areas:
• Adapt and localize artist-supplied tour art and assets into Ordway-specific marketing materials across print, digital, and out-of-home formats.
• Take the lead on planning, designing, and producing printed and digital programs for each Broadway production and Ordway Presents event throughout the season.
• Lead original design for major annual projects requiring creative development from scratch, while incorporating established brand and event elements. Examples include Season Subscription Announcement, Ordway Gala, and Flint Hills Family Fest.
• Edit short- and long-form video content for social media and promotional use, optimized for TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts, and other emerging platforms.
• Maintain organized archives of creative files, art packages, and production assets and manage Ordway stock photo library.
• Utilize and uphold the Ordway Brand Identity Style Guide across all deliverables, ensuring brand consistency across print, digital, video, and social formats.
Other Qualifications:
• Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field required; equivalent professional experience considered
• Three+ years of professional graphic design experience required; agency, entertainment, performing arts, music, or culture-driven brand experience preferred
• Previous experience as a Production Artist or Graphic Designer in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment preferred
• Hands-on daily experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) required
• Experience with mechanical print production, pre-press production operations, and digital production required
• Image manipulation, color correction, and retouching experience required
• Demonstrated video editing experience producing content for social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts)
• Motion graphics or light animation experience preferred (After Effects or equivalent)
• Affinity for Broadway, liver performance, entertainment, music, and the arts
• High degree of sensitivity for confidentiality
• Flexible availability, including some evenings and weekends during peak production periods
• Reliable transportation required
• Ability to collaborate closely with the VP, marketing team, internal departments, and external contractors and agencies
• Strong communication and feedback-handling skills; able to interpret and act on direction that is not always straightforward or singular sourced
• Must be extremely detail-oriented and able to receive, manage, and implement feedback
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment
• Ability to represent the Ordway professionally in all external interactions
• Positive, proactive, and self-motivated work style
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed
Portfolio Requirements
A strong portfolio is required with the application packet demonstrating:
• Production and localization work (adapting provided assets into platform-ready formats)
• Original creative design (brochures, event collateral, editorial, or promotional materials)
• Social media content design across multiple platforms
• Typography and layout skills
• Video editing and/or motion work
