Job Description
Position: High School Activities Director / AP
Grade Level: 9–12
Reporting To: High School Principal
Position Summary
(School District Name) is seeking a dynamic and organized leader for the dual role of 9-12 Assistant Principal and Activities Director. This individual will provide administrative leadership in student management and school safety while overseeing all high school athletic, fine arts, and extracurricular programs. We are looking for a candidate who is committed to student accountability, coaching excellence, and the logistical success of our activities department.
Primary Responsibilities
Administrative Leadership (Assistant Principal)
- Student Management: Oversee 9-12 student discipline, attendance, and behavioral interventions to maintain a safe and productive learning environment.
- School Safety: Lead building-level safety drills and assist in the implementation of the district’s emergency response protocols.
- Instructional Support: Assist the Principal in the observation and evaluation of certified and classified staff.
- Daily Operations: Provide high-visibility supervision during school hours, including lunch periods and hallway transitions.
Activities & Athletic Management (Activities Director)
- Program Oversight: Direct all 9-12 interscholastic sports, fine arts (Speech, Music, Play Production), and student organizations.
- Personnel: Assist the Principal in recruiting, hiring, and evaluating all coaches and activity sponsors.
- Scheduling: Coordinate the master activities calendar, including game contracts, official assignments, and facility usage.
- Compliance: Ensure all programs meet Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) eligibility and Title IX requirements.
- Travel Logistics: Manage high school activity transportation by assigning buses and drivers for all away competitions and trips. Assist Coaches and Sponsors in hotel accommodations if required.
Professional Requirements
- Certification: Valid Nebraska Administrative Certificate (7-12 or PK-12 Principal endorsement).
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of successful secondary teaching or coaching experience.
- Skills: Excellent communication, strong organizational abilities, and a "team-first" mentality.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including frequent evening and weekend event supervision.
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $43,763.50 Salary
