Role Description
The Program Director for 4-H Camp Overlook provides leadership, oversight, and day‑to‑day management for the camp program and staff. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and implementing youth programs, managing camp schedules, supervising staff, overseeing risk management procedures, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders. The director ensures that all programs align with 4-H positive youth development principles and meet the needs of campers and their families. This is a full‑time, on‑site position located in Malone, NY.
Qualifications
- Experience and skills in camp management and youth program development
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with staff, youth, and families
- Background in youth development and working with children in structured programs
- Proven customer service skills to ensure positive interactions with stakeholders and community members
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Bachelor's degree in education, recreation, or a related field is preferred
- Familiarity with 4-H programming and principles is a plus
- First Aid, CPR, and other certifications related to youth safety are advantageous
- Passion for working with youth and fostering positive development experiences through structured programs
