TRANSFORM HEALTHCARE THROUGH DATA ANALYTICS

Location : Annapolis, Maryland (Hybrid Work Arrangement)

Salary : $130,000 - $150,000 annually

Reports to : Chief Executive Officer

WORK LOCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical presence in our Annapolis, MD office , TWO (2) full days per week (non-negotiable)
  • Must currently reside within commuting distance of Annapolis, Maryland
  • Periodic travel to health center sites throughout Maryland and Delaware (typically less than 10 site visits annually).

The Mid-Atlantic Association of Community Health Centers (MACHC) serves as the federally designated Health Center Controlled Network and Primary Care Association for community health centers across Maryland and Delaware. The Opportunity

MACHC is seeking a visionary and experienced healthcare leader to serve as the association's Health Center Controlled Network (HCCN) Executive Director . This pivotal leadership role will drive innovation in how Participating Health Centers (PHCs) leverage health information technology and data analytics to transform patient care and operational excellence.

The HCCN Executive Director will lead initiatives that help health centers strengthen and leverage health information technology to enhance the quality of care, improve patient safety, and reduce costs—ultimately advancing the health of Maryland and Delaware's communities. The HCCN Executive Director must be able to travel to health center locations in Maryland and Delaware on an as-needed basis.

Impact

The HCCN Executive Director will:

  • Champion Digital Transformation - Lead health centers through the evolving healthcare technology landscape, helping implement solutions that drive clinical excellence and operational efficiency.
  • Build Strategic Partnerships - Develop and nurture relationships with health center leadership, technology vendors, and healthcare innovators to create a collaborative ecosystem that advances MACHC's HCCN mission.
  • Drive Data-Powered Improvement - Guide health centers in harnessing the power of data analytics to identify opportunities, measure outcomes, and make evidence-based decisions that enhance patient care.
  • Lead a High-Performing Team - Inspire and develop a talented team of data analysts dedicated to providing exceptional technical assistance and consulting services to PHCs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership & Innovation

  • Establish trusted advisory relationships with health center leadership across Maryland and Delaware, leading a team that supports centers' clinical workflow optimization and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assess technology needs across participating health centers and develop comprehensive strategies to address gaps and opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between MACHC and health centers for all health information technology initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and healthcare industry trends.
  • Guide health centers in optimizing data, electronic health record systems, and healthcare technology platforms that enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee vendor relationship management and facilitate user group collaborations to maximize the value of technology investments.
  • Lead the management of EHR consultants and center-specific project implementations, ensuring successful outcomes and knowledge transfer.

Data Analytics & Population Health

  • Champion data governance best practices and advanced analytic capabilities across the network, connecting clinical workflows with robust data collection and validation processes.
  • Support population health management initiatives, including pre-visit planning, care gap outreach, risk stratification, and care coordination.
  • Translate complex analytics into actionable insights to support senior leadership decision-making and demonstrate the value and impact of health IT investments
  • Lead and develop the MACHC HCCN team to deliver exceptional technical assistance and consulting services that meet the evolving needs of health centers.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that promotes innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing across the network.
  • Manage team efforts in vendor relations, user group facilitation, and project management to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

Required: Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of value-based care experience applicable to primary care settings and 5+ years in progressive leadership roles.

Preferred: Master's degree in public health, population health, informatics, healthcare administration, or related field.

Technical Expertise

  • Experience leading teams to support health care improvement and optimizing data-driven decisions, collaborating with HIEs and providers.
  • Proven experience with analytics platforms such as Azara, i2i, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent data analytics tools.
  • Strong understanding of population health concepts, care management systems, and value-based care models.
