Responsibilities

  • Achieve and maintain a high occupancy percentage.
  • Maintain the sales tracking system for the community and keep the GM and Director of Sales informed of trends.
  • Work closely with GM and Business Office Director to ensure accurate reporting of community census via integrated CRM/accounting system (Yardi).
  • Manage the entire sales process: build prospect base, immediately respond to inquiries, generate tours, perform purposeful follow‑up, and secure deposits for move‑ins.
  • Assist in transitioning the move‑in process to GM, Assisted Living Supervisor, Assisted Living Director, and other department heads upon receipt of deposit and agreed‑upon move‑in date.
  • Develop and implement innovative sales/marketing plans.
  • Develop community outreach plans and build relationships with professional referral sources to generate leads and promote a positive reputation.
  • Work with Director of Marketing to provide feedback on media advertising, community sponsorships, and other marketing opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Activities Director and Executive Chef to plan special events that benefit existing residents and attract potential residents.
  • Conduct competitive shops regularly, submitting at least two written reports to the Seattle office per year.
  • Stay aware of all direct competitors, their offerings, occupancy status, selling methods, current incentives, and changes, and communicate this information to GM, VP of Operations, Director of Sales, Director of Marketing, and partners consistently.
  • Make promotional recommendations for the community based on competitive shops.
  • Position Merrill Gardens in accordance with corporate vision and mission.
  • Track and maintain marketing budget for community‑responsible line items (Events, Outreach, Creative Lead Follow‑Up).
  • Act as General Manager if assigned.

Qualifications

  • Four‑year degree in Business, Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations or Communications preferred.
  • Three‑plus years of sales and marketing experience, preferably in a related field.

Physical Requirements

This role requires regular use of a computer and may involve occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs), bending, or reaching. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
