Real Estate Capital Markets Director

The Hinterland Group is a Chicago-based real estate private equity firm pursuing ground-up and adaptive reuse development across multifamily, hospitality, and commercial assets in the Midwest - with active projects in Chicago, Grand Rapids, Detroit, and Birmingham, MI.

We're growing our team and looking for a Director of Capital Markets to lead investor relations, capital formation, and LP engagement across our deal pipeline.

What you'll own:

• Build and manage relationships with accredited investors, family offices, PE/VC firms, RIAs, and institutional LPs
• Drive capital raises for individual deals and fund vehicles — from initial outreach through close
• Manage THG's deal room and investor platform (onboarding, data room integrity, investor communications)
• Craft compelling investor presentations, deal memos, and LP updates in partnership with our development team
• Coordinate NDAs, subscription agreements, and closing logistics with legal counsel
• Represent THG at industry events and cultivate a pipeline of warm capital relationships over time

Who you are:

• 5–10 years in capital markets, investor relations, placement, or private equity fundraising
• Existing network of accredited investors, family offices, or institutional capital sources - this is non-negotiable
• Deep familiarity with Reg D offerings (506b/506c), LP deal structures, and private placement mechanics
• Strong communicator who can translate complex development deals into compelling investment narratives
• Self-directed operator comfortable in a lean, fast-moving firm environment
• Bonus: experience in real estate PE, CRE development, or alternative asset fundraising
