About the Team
Our Sales Engineering team is responsible for the adoption and growth of advertising solutions with our hundreds of Top SMB restaurants in the US. This team partners with our existing sales team (Account Management and Account Development) to understand the marketing growth goals of our restaurant customers and tailor our product solutions to meet their needs.
About the Role
As an Ads Value Engineer, you will assist sales reps in handling any and all technical or product questions and blockers in the sales cycle. You do this by joining sales calls with merchants, deeply understanding their business and technology stack, and creating and communicating solutions that align the merchant’s needs and goals to our marketing offering. This position reports to the Head of Account Development, Marketing. It is a remote role for US‑based candidates, preferably near a DoorDash office.

- Drive sales — Assist in qualifying and closing deals from a technical standpoint, collaborating with sales and development partners.
- Become a subject matter expert – on the DoorDash Advertising product suite including campaign performance, upsell opportunities and ROAS (return on ad spend).
- Create and deliver customized performance reviews, product demos and proof of concepts – Support pre‑ and post‑product adoption analysis: forecast expected impact, run experiments/tests, analyze results, and iterate.
- Influence the product roadmap – by aggregating merchant feedback calls that help determine the direction of the roadmap.

- You can problem‑solve effectively and efficiently, matching appropriate solutions for each merchant scenario.
- You seamlessly collaborate with sales team members and understand how to assist and accelerate the sales process.
- You have a minimum of 4 years of sales engineering, sales consultant, value engineer, pre‑sales solution consulting or related experience.

- Experience writing SQL queries involving one or more joins for data retrieval and analysis.
- Previous experience with Ad‑Tech, advertising products or models including campaign metrics; value analyses and financial metrics (e.g., CPA, incremental sales lift, lifetime value uplift, return on ad spend) for different ad products/features.
Compensation
- Base salary is localized in accordance with employee work location.
- Paid time off: salaried employees receive flexible vacation plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year; hourly employees accrue vacation at 1 hour per 25.97 hours worked and sick time at 1 hour per 30 hours worked.
- Equity grants and sales commission may be available.
National base pay range: $68,520 - $100,800 USD . Total on‑target earnings (base + commissions): $114,200 - $168,000 USD .
