Student Recruitment Specialist
The Student Recruitment Specialist position is housed in the Pathways for Academic Support and Success (PASS) in the College of Education and Human Sciences (COEHS).
This position serves as a bridge for prospective students between the University and community partners such as UNM branch campuses, alumni networks, community colleges, and local school systems to provide important information about the COEHS degree pathways. In collaboration with the PASS advisement and student success teams, they design impactful pipelines that help drive enrollment, support retention, and ensure diverse student body representation.
We are looking for an engaging team member that will support our faculty, staff, and students both at the undergraduate and graduate levels through an eagerness to learn, collaborate, and engage in both small and large conversations.
Responsibilities
Develop recruitment strategies that align with the COEHS mission.
Build recruitment metrics and reports to track success of initial outreach to college admission for college stakeholders.
Work with the Director of Student Success and higher COEHS administration to design and implement recruitment models and presentations.
Build effective partnerships with the COEHS faculty and staff to gather important program information to distribute to prospective undergraduate and graduate students.
Travel to high schools, community colleges, and branch campuses to provide COEHS program information at the undergraduate and graduate level through tabling events or presentations to large groups.
Coordinate COEHS participation for national and local college recruitment fairs, conferences and related outreach events.
Conditions of Employment
Ability to travel by vehicle or air, locally, statewide and/or out of state.
A valid driver's license, or ability to obtain a valid driver's license within thirty days of hire, is required for this job.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with one or more of the career pathways COEHS supports.
Prior experience recruiting undergraduate and/or graduate students with demonstrated success supporting enrollment, retention, and graduation goals, and experience developing and tracking recruitment metrics.
Demonstrated ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships with K–12 schools, community colleges, branch campuses, alumni, faculty, and community organizations, especially to support pathway or pipeline development for diverse student populations.
