Roles and Responsibilities include: The ideal direct sales candidate will be a proven leader within the Eastern Midwest territory, with sales experience and a true passion to drive aggressive sales growth, strategically impact company growth and help redefine what it means for growers to collaborate with an agricultural supplier. We seek innovative and creative sales representatives that are ready to transform the seed industry and grow and serve our valued customers by developing positive relationships to help ensure their success. Developing a network of internal and allied trade support within the territory is essential to help optimize the customer experience.

Job Responsibilities

Work with customers to recommend and sell the best products based on their needs and business practices.

Relationship building with customers through visits and consistent communication, identifying key grower needs and opportunities for sales growth.

Recommend solutions for customer/field concerns.

Track customers and projects using the tools provided by the company. Report, analyze, and assess results, making corrective actions where necessary.

Collaborate with customers and staff in problem solving issues and complaint resolution.

Execute territory sales plan and report competitive information.

Achieve company and departmental sales objectives outlined annually by management team.

Evaluate territory potential, collaborate with sales management in mapping out a plan for aggressive market penetration.

Identify key go‑to‑market strategies that will help grow the territory.

Build strong supplier and allied trade relationships.

Communicate professionally with Sales, Channel, and Product Management, Sales Support, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to successfully achieve territory objectives.

Attend trials, training and trade shows as designated to increase product knowledge and build customer relationships.

Serve as a champion of the company and the seed industry, while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Gain knowledge of the company’s seed, plant and supply product lines to ensure customer success, along with understanding the customers’ production and sales channel needs.

Experience

3-5 years industry-related sales experience.

Knowledge of vegetables and the marketplace, and how to leverage such products to customer base. Knowledge of the ornamentals business is a plus.

Familiarity and use of data driven sales strategies and tactics are recommended.

Know how to set, monitor, and measure product trials as part of the sales process.

Strong negotiating and closing skills.

Strong interpersonal and communications skills with customers and company colleagues.

Proficiency in Office 365, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Ability to perform physical requirements (lift 25 lb. bags).

Valid driver’s license and proven safe driving record.

Ability and willingness to travel overnight.

Self‑starter, strong leadership skills.

This job operates in a flexible environment as needed to either be traveling, working from home or working from the office.

Expected Hours of Work This is a full‑time position.
