A leading global asset manager is seeking an experienced
Fixed Income Investment Specialist / Client Portfolio Manager
to support the growth and positioning of its Fixed Income platform across the APAC ex‑Japan region. This individual will serve as a key bridge between the investment teams and both external clients and internal distribution partners.
The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge of fixed income markets, strong client‑facing skills, and a background in portfolio advisory, product specialist work, or investment consulting. Candidates currently in similar roles at global asset managers, private banks (Investment consultants or product specialists), or investment consulting firms (e.g., Mercer, Cambridge Associates) are highly encouraged to apply.
Mandarin proficiency is essential, as the role will engage with North Asia‑based clients who frequently conduct meetings in Mandarin.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Distribution Engagement
Represent the firm's suite of fixed income capabilities in discussions with institutional and intermediary clients across APAC ex‑Japan.
Conduct regular investment review meetings, articulating strategy positioning, attribution, performance drivers, and portfolio outlook.
Partner closely with regional sales and client coverage teams to drive business development efforts and support ongoing client relationships.
Identify new business opportunities and participate in pitching fixed income solutions to prospective clients.
Investment & Product Expertise
Act as a subject matter expert on fixed income strategies, including areas such as duration positioning, credit selection, and yield‑curve management.
Translate complex investment concepts into clear, client‑friendly messages for a broad range of audiences.
Contribute to market insights, thought‑leadership materials, white papers, and client‑facing commentary.
Platform & Product Support
Support the development and refinement of fixed income offerings to address evolving client needs and regional market trends.
Collaborate with internal teams-Marketing, Product, Performance, Legal & Compliance-to maintain updated marketing materials and assist with fixed income campaigns.
Work closely with the RFP function to review product content and craft high‑quality responses for existing and newly developed strategies.
Coordinate with the wider Client Portfolio Manager team to support the global fixed income platform.
Reporting & Deliverables
Assist with client reporting requirements to ensure timely, accurate, and insightful deliverables.
Contribute to internal discussions on market landscape, product gaps, and strategic positioning of the firm's fixed income capabilities.
Requirements
10+ years of relevant experience in fixed income product specialist, client portfolio management, investment consulting, or similar functions.
Strong understanding of global fixed income markets, instruments, and portfolio construction.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with proven experience engaging external clients.
Fluency in English and Mandarin (spoken and written) is required ; Cantonese or other Asian languages are advantageous.
Bachelor's degree required; CFA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Willingness to travel within the region.
