Job Summary
The Director of Campus Ministry provides creative vision and spiritual leadership for all aspects of Malvern Prep’s Campus Ministry in service of the school’s Augustinian mission and its core values of Truth, Unity, and Love. Rooted in the charism of St. Augustine, the Director builds authentic relationships with students, families, faculty, and alumni, serving as a visible and relational presence who accompanies students through daily life, prayer, liturgy, retreats, and personal guidance so that each student feels known, valued, and invited into a deeper relationship with God and one another. The Director oversees the sacramental and spiritual life of the school, ensures mission-driven and inclusive programming, mentors student leaders in faith and service, and collaborates across the community to strengthen a culture of belonging, shared purpose, and commitment to the Augustinian tradition.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Arts in Ministry or Theology - related field
Knowledge and understanding of the Roman Catholic tradition.
Practicing Roman Catholic in good-standing.
Essential Duties Foster Visionary and Mission-Driven Programming:
Provide creative vision and spiritual leadership for all aspects of Campus Ministry.
Ensure alignment with Malvern Prep’s Augustinian charism and core values of Truth, Unity, and Love.
Integrate the spiritual dimension into daily school life.
Collaborate across departments to advance the school’s mission through retreats, prayer experiences, and sacramental preparation (OCIA).
Promote participation and encourage inter-religious dialogue on campus.
Cultivate a Relational and Visible Campus Presence:
Build authentic relationships with students, faculty, families, and alumni.
Engage consistently in campus life as an accessible and trusted spiritual presence.
Offer mentorship, spiritual direction, counsel, and prayer.
Ensure that every student feels known, valued, and invited into deeper faith and community.
Oversee and Animate the Sacramental and Liturgical Life of the School
Plan and coordinate the full sacramental life of the school (Eucharistic celebrations, Reconciliation, prayer services, retreats, and liturgical seasons).
Form and train liturgical ministers.
Coordinate major school events (Brotherhood Ceremony and Retreat, Admissions Masses, Junior Ring Mass and Retreat, Baccalaureate Mass, 8th Grade Retreat, 8th Grade Advancement Mass).
Ensure events are grounded in meaningful prayer, thoughtful programming, and mission-centered responsiveness to students’ spiritual needs.
Form and Empower Student Faith Leadership:
Develop programs and formative experiences that encourage broad student participation in school and Church life.
Mentor student leaders and cultivate peer ministry.
Promote inclusive excellence honoring the dignity of every person.
Serve as Director and Designer of MECO Retreats (Malvernians Encountering Christ in Others) and Adeodatus Reflection programs.
Coordinate the Student Augustinian Values Institute.
Instructional Support:
Teach courses or lead classroom-based theological discussions as needed.
Relational Partnership:
Develop and maintain productive, cooperative relationships with students, co-workers, parents, and external partners.
Collaborate with the Mission & Ministry team to achieve shared goals.
Competencies Required
Strong technology skills/Proficient with Google Suite
Responds to requests for information and feedback in an accurate, substantive, and timely manner
Follows up with others in a timely fashion and exhibits dependability in all facets of his/her role
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Critical thinking skills
Able to work independently and effectively with other team members
Good team player and very reliable in working without close supervision
Highly organized and comfortable with deadlines and deliverables
Passionate about actively supporting the School’s mission
Physical considerations: Typically lifts less than 10 pounds
Psychological considerations: Attention to detail
Hazard considerations: No hazards
