
Marketing & Communication Coordinator

Overall Objectives
To coordinate the school's interactions with the Yinghua community and the general public. This role promotes the school’s mission, vision, and prominence as an outstanding educational institution and provides administrative support for fundraising efforts to sustain and develop the school.
Principal Roles & Responsibilities
Prepare high-level communications for the Executive Director and the school to ensure a consistent institutional voice.
Lead the preparation of the Annual Report and other compliance-based required reports for the State of Minnesota, Friends of Education, and various grant makers.
Create and execute a comprehensive school-to-home communication plan using weekly newsletters, email blasts, social media, and the school website.
Create and distribute time-sensitive or urgent messages from the school, such as weather closures or safety alerts, to the community.
Update and maintain the school website to ensure all information is current, accurate, and engaging.
Create and schedule school promotion messages and social media posts to highlight school programs and student achievements.
Institutional Communication & Messaging
Prepare high-level communications for the Executive Director and the school to ensure a consistent institutional voice.
Lead the preparation of the Annual Report and other compliance-based required reports for the State of Minnesota, Friends of Education, and various grant makers.
Create and execute a comprehensive school-to-home communication plan using weekly newsletters, email blasts, social media, and the school website.
Create and distribute time-sensitive or urgent messages from the school, such as weather closures or safety alerts, to the community.
Update and maintain the school website to ensure all information is current, accurate, and engaging.
Create and schedule school promotion messages and social media posts to highlight school programs and student achievements.
Marketing & Event Coordination
Design and create promotional materials for school events, including digital flyers, posters, and email invitations.
Draft and distribute logistical messages related to event planning, including RSVP requests and volunteer coordination.
Assist with the execution of student recruitment strategies, including the promotion of school tours and targeted social media campaigns to help meet annual enrollment targets.
Coordinate the production of school brochures, advertisements, and other marketing materials that reflect the school's mission.
Maintains an effective marketing strategy promoting the school’s mission and vision. Sets strategy to keep the school’s reputation prominent among peer institutions in Minnesota, the US, and abroad.
Development & Fundraising Support
Collaborates with cross-departmental teams to maximize the use of the constituent management system (CMS), ensuring donor and alumni records are accurate and up to date.
Ensure high standards of data entry by following established techniques and procedures, verifying data through regular reviews, and correcting or deleting records as necessary.
Protect school operations by keeping all sensitive donor and constituent information strictly confidential.
Acknowledge donations and issue tax receipts in a timely manner. Coordinate donor recognition activities and ongoing stewardship to build long-term relationships.
Assist as a staff point of contact for Yinghua Academy Community Association (YACA).
Help research and identify corporate and foundation funding sources. Collaborate with Executive Director and Fundraising Director to set grant strategies, prepare submissions, and ensure all reporting requirements are met.

Requirements Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
Prior experience in marketing, fundraising, or public relations, preferably within a school or education-based nonprofit setting.
Exceptional writing skills with the ability to draft precise, compelling communications for diverse audiences while matching the style of school leadership.
Advanced use of constituent management systems (CMS).
Expertise in social media platforms and website management.
Proficiency in both Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English is preferred but not required.
Resourceful team player who seeks advice and shares options with leaders.
Excellent project management and decision-making skills.
Ability to handle high-pressure environments with grace.
