Designer II - Concurrent Enrollment

Join Utah Valley University Concurrent Enrollment as a graphic designer at the Lehi Campus, where your visual storytelling will help connect students, families, schools, and communities to college access opportunities across the state. In this role, you will create impactful print and digital materials that support student success and strengthen how Concurrent Enrollment is experienced and understood.

We are seeking a designer who combines creative vision with strategic thinking—someone who can develop original visual solutions, manage multiple projects, and bring fresh ideas to a collaborative environment.

Project Creation: With limited feedback from the Associate Director of Engagement – CE, works on design projects from concept to completion. Conceptualizes and designs graphic illustrations and/or applications such as collateral material, environmental graphics, books and magazines, corporate identity, interactive and multimedia interfaces. Collaborates with clients to understand their design needs and objectives. Independently creates complex design layouts for various media, ensuring brand consistency. The production process for print materials includes prepress checks and vendor coordination.

Project Development: Reviews work with senior designers and incorporates senior designer and client feedback. Works closely with copywriters, photographers, and other creative professionals.

Project Management: Manages multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that timely delivery and adherence to project goals are met. Monitors project progress and addresses any issues or concerns that arise. Helps refine and evolve brand guidelines based on feedback and institutional needs.

Pursues advanced training to remain current on industry trends and enhance skills in design software and techniques.

May mentor interns or junior designers by providing guidance and feedback. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related discipline, and one year of experience in managing a portfolio of creative projects; OR any combination of education and experience totaling five years.

Knowledge

Highly skilled in design software.

Able to train others and integrate new tools into the workflow.

Fluent knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant design applications.

Strong knowledge of color theory, color relationships, and typography.

Working knowledge of digital design principles.

Working knowledge of web development and video production.

Working knowledge of the print production process.

Skills

Skills in computers and computer applications, including Adobe Creative Suite.

Skills in verbal and written communications.

Develops innovative design concepts that push the boundaries of institutional branding.
