Job Title:
Construction Oversight Engineer
Type: Long-term Contract
Contractor Work Model: Remote
Responsibilities
Develop procedures for regulatory oversight of the construction of advanced reactor unit(s)
Provide inspection oversight of the construction of advanced reactor unit(s), leveraging in-depth knowledge of NRC regulations and inspection procedures
Independently identify issues of concern, proactively communicate with management within the Regulatory Construction Oversight organization, and recommend regulatory paths that resolve the issues of concern
Conduct technical inspections related to the construction of advanced reactor units
Support the Regulatory Construction Oversight organization within Regulatory Affairs and Licensing
Requirements
18+ years of experience with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), including time spent as a qualified inspector (reactors)
In-depth knowledge of regulations, codes, standards, and guidance related to nuclear power reactors
Ability to work independently and with a questioning attitude
Bachelor's degree in a technical field (desired)
Strong communication skills, including the ability to succinctly and promptly communicate matters of significance across a diverse audience
High degree of trust and integrity, open communication, and teamwork orientation
Ability to work onsite in Kemmerer, including walking, climbing, standing for prolonged periods in various weather conditions
Physical exertion: moderate, including lifting up to 25 pounds
Travel required: 75%
