3-7 Years Actuary Experience
Ability to mentor/lead others
Certifications/working towards them from Society of Actuary's preferred
Experience Experience at a larger consulting firm such as Willis Towers Watson, Milliman, Horizon would be a plus.
Job Summary Under limited supervision, uses specialized knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to prepare financials and financial analysis reports to analyze the financial costs of risk and uncertainty. Evaluation, originality and ingenuity are required to locate, select and apply appropriate procedures, processes and techniques to specific assignments. Uses mathematics, statistics, and financial theory to assess the risk. Regular contact with upper management and other internal customers is required to identify, research, and provide recommendations to minimize the cost of risk.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform valuation services for pension and post-retirement medical plans
Prepare plan design alternatives for pension and post-retirement medical plans
Prepare and present key findings to clients
Perform project tasks independently
Participate in the development of deliverable content that meets the needs of the client
Anticipate client needs and formulate solutions to client issues
Prepare deliverables with accuracy and quality
Provide coaching and mentoring to junior staff
Manage own personal and professional development; seek opportunities for professional growth and expansion of consulting skills and experiences

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Jose, CA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $55.00/hr.
