
Expense Associate - Global Private Bank

We have an exciting opportunity to join our JPMorgan Global Private Bank Finance & Business Management (“GPB F&BM”) team where you will report directly to the Headcount & Expense lead, providing consolidated financial analysis and reporting largely centered around expense. As a member of GPB F&BM you are an integral part of our efforts to strategically manage capital, drive growth and efficiencies, maintain financial reporting and proactively manage risk. By providing information, analysis and recommendations to improve results and drive decisions, our teams ensure the company can navigate all types of market conditions while protecting our fortress balance sheet.
As an Associate on our Global Private Bank team, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating across the regional and India based Finance teams, performing analysis of financial/business metrics, delivery of management reporting, enhancement of reporting initiatives and development of ad-hoc business performance analysis. You will also act as a key conduit between the regional teams and US partners in GPB/Asset Wealth Management P&A.
Job responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and variance analysis on business expense trends with an overall goal of improving ROE
Set monthly reviews with business leaders and senior stakeholders to effectively communicate findings and recommendations
Provide insights and recommendations to support groups and the business on actuals, future outlooks, and budgets
Manage and communicate results around the internal allocation engine from support group expenses to front office
Transform and modernize the current reporting package using Analytical tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, and ThoughtSpot for more transparent views into a fully loaded P&L
Prepare budget decks for the Global Private Bank and the various regions
Act as the backup to regional expense & headcount leads as necessary
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial planning & analysis, finance, accounting, controller, management consulting, management accounting or related function in Financial Services
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial analysis techniques; ability to understand business drivers and identify opportunities to improve
Provide a high level of responsiveness to executive ad-hoc requests related to results, presentation development, and analysis to key stakeholders
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders from various departments and levels; excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships and promote cooperation among team members and other teams
Detail oriented, strategic thinker with skills in analysis, data synthetization, and acute decision making
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with ability to present complex financial information to stakeholders
Experience leading projects, dealing with competing priorities
Ability to distill complex information in a clear and concise way
Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Professional certifications such as CFA or CPA
Working knowledge of Alteryx, SQL, Tableau, Anaplan and ThoughtSpot
Understanding of the P&L and underlying expense drivers
