Senior Tax Analyst
will be a key member of the tax function, reporting directly to the Tax Director, and will support a broad range of responsibilities across income tax accounting and compliance, state and local tax, indirect tax, property tax, business licenses, and tax process improvement initiatives. This role will coordinate and review external provider deliverables, partner cross-functionally, and contribute to building efficient tax processes. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in U.S. federal tax and ASC 740, the ability to operate autonomously in a lean environment, and a demonstrated focus on continuous improvement and the use of technology to enhance the tax function. A TASTE OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Compile and analyze financial data required for federal, state, and local tax filings and quarterly and annual tax provisions. Perform detailed technical and analytical review of all deliverables prepared by third-party tax providers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper application of tax law and accounting guidance. Manage filing calendars, estimated payments, and extensions to ensure timely compliance across all jurisdictions. Prepare and maintain tax account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and related journal entries. Oversee state income and franchise tax processes, including apportionment data collection, jurisdictional tracking, and nexus considerations. Coordinate with external providers on property tax, sales and use tax, and business license compliance and review related accruals and filings. Perform analytical review of effective tax rate drivers and communicate key variances and insights to the Head of Tax. Support tax forecasting, cash tax planning, and tax budget processes. Research and document technical tax positions and analyze the impact of new tax legislation and accounting guidance. Provide audit support by preparing documentation and responding to internal and external auditor requests. Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and enhancements to data flow and workpaper standardization. Work cross-functionally with Finance and external service providers to facilitate data flow, address open items, and maintain an effective and well-coordinated tax compliance and reporting process. YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS:
3+ years of tax compliance and accounting experience obtained in a public accounting firm, a publicly traded corporate tax department, or a combination thereof Current and valid CPA license, required Demonstrated knowledge of a broad range of corporate income tax matters, particularly tax provision and compliance experience General understanding of, or experience with, state and local taxes in multi-state jurisdictions Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively with tax and finance teams Proactive in developing solutions to solve issues independently Ability to identify, research and solve tax issues Ability to communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders Experience with Oracle ERP system is a plus BENEFITS:
