Job Summary The Patient Services Representative III – Floater (PSR III) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care and support. This role is responsible for performing high-quality blood specimen collection, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring a safe, professional, and patient-focused environment.
The PSR III plays a critical role in building patient trust by explaining procedures clearly and performing venipuncture with accuracy and care. This position requires flexibility to travel and support multiple locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and capillary collections on patients of all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations
Accurately label and process specimens in accordance with established procedures
Verify patient demographics and obtain patient signatures post‑collection to ensure proper identification
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and specimen integrity
Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming environment for patients
Adhere to all safety, confidentiality, and compliance standards
Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection as required
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Travel to multiple locations and provide coverage with minimal notice
Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting productivity and quality standards
Demonstrate leadership behaviors and promote a positive company image
Job Requirements
Ability to deliver accurate, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment
Strong organizational and multitasking skills in high‑volume settings
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on‑call shifts as needed
Willingness to travel between multiple locations
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable)
Commitment to company policies, safety standards, and professional conduct
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent – Required
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training – Preferred
Phlebotomy Certification – Preferred (Required in CA, NV, WA)
Work Experience
Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections) – Required
At least 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center – Preferred
Prior customer service experience in a retail or service environment – Preferred
Basic computer and data entry skills – Required
