This role ensures Dignity Memorial appears at the top of search engine results, generating prime visibility and clicks for relevant keywords by connecting strategic vision with operational execution. The Senior Manager, SEO sets the roadmap, manages governance, and leads a high-performing team that executes on technical excellence, local visibility, and high-quality content.

Job Responsibilities Strategy & Roadmap

Own Dignity Memorial’s full SEO strategy across technical, on-page, content, off-site, and AI search to drive sustainable, high-quality organic growth

Define KPIs and reporting frameworks that connect performance growth to revenue growth, priorities, and long-term SEO goals across all Dignity Memorial properties

Translate corporate objectives into actionable SEO initiatives that drive measurable growth

Partner with IT, Product, and Content teams to ensure SEO requirements are embedded into all digital projects

Establish SEO governance – the framework of standards, processes, and accountability that ensures consistent optimization practices, protects site health, and maintains SEO quality across all locations

Reporting & Insights

Develop and maintain SEO dashboards and KPIs using GA4, GSC, etc. and source new analytics tools as needed

Define and evolve SEO KPIs to measure success across organic visibility, engagement, and lead generation

Translate performance data into actionable insights and recommendations

Present SEO performance and strategy updates to Marketing and Executive leadership

Content Optimization

Oversee on-page SEO and content improvement initiatives led by the SEO Manager

Guide keyword targeting, metadata strategy, and content quality enhancements for location, obituary, and educational pages

Partner with Content and UX teams to ensure content aligns with user intent and supports conversion

Local Search

Oversee local search governance

Define strategy for improving local map pack visibility and keyword performance across 2,000+ locations

Ensure NAP consistency, schema accuracy, and high-quality local landing pages

Technical SEO & Site Health

Oversee site infrastructure optimization, Core Web Vitals, and structured data implementation

Partner with IT and Technical SEO to ensure crawlability, indexation, and site performance are continuously improved

Maintain SEO governance documentation and technical audit tracking

Manage multilingual SEO and international page translation workflows – ensuring metadata, hreflang, and translated content are properly configured and indexed across all languages

Vendor & Tool Relationships

Manage SEO tool stack and vendor partnerships

Evaluate new tools, manage contracts, and ensure effective vendor governance

Standardize SEO processes and reporting across teams

Minimum Requirements Education

Bachelor’s degree required. Preferably in marketing but other majors will be considered

Experience

Experience working with large‑scale website(s) with at least 1M+ URLs

7+ years of SEO experience with multi‑language, multi‑location website(s) with experience managing teams

Experience working cross‑functionally with developers, content creators, and executives

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate SEO insights into business outcomes

Strong understanding of technical SEO, local SEO, and content optimization best practices

Proficiency with tools such as GSC, GA4, Screaming Frog, and Semrush

Proven track record driving measurable SEO growth for multi‑location or enterprise‑scale websites

Expertise in international SEO and translated content management (hreflang, canonical structure, metadata translation)

Work indoors during all seasons and weather conditions

Sitting continuously for many hours per day, up to 6 hours per day

Climbing stairs to access buildings frequently

Physical Demands

Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is required, includes paperwork, calculators, computers and phone usage
