About The Position The Senior Housing Real Estate Analyst/Associate will be a member of the Real Estate Equity team at Fortress and will support the team through all stages of the deal life cycle, including acquisitions analytics, closing support, and post-closing asset management. This position will report to a Real Estate Managing Director/Partner in Dallas. The individual hired for this position will focus on the senior housing sector within the real estate equity team. They will have exposure to a wide variety of senior housing deals and products, positions within the capital stack, and markets. This position is expected to be a two to three-year program with future growth opportunities for high performers.
Responsibilities
Analyze new investment opportunities and present recommendations
Create and maintain cash flow models for senior housing transactions and joint ventures
Assist in real estate and business due diligence
Create transaction analysis, summaries, and investment memoranda for recommendations to the Investment Committee
Assist in ongoing asset management activities of the Fortress senior housing portfolio
Review and analyze business plans, loan documents, construction draws, leasing activity and monthly property operating performance
Ensure compliance with loan documents and other affiliate agreements
Work with operating partners and internal team members to make operational and capital expense decisions for Fortress’ senior housing portfolio
Prepare internal analyses and presentations regarding the performance of Fortress’ senior housing portfolio
Assist in maintaining checklists and file organization systems, and with planning meetings/due diligence trips
Assist in coordinating signatures for documentation
Assist in coordinating transaction closing procedures
Maintain dialogue with brokers, consultants, and vendors
Regularly research senior housing industry trends in addition to local senior housing real estate markets
Ad hoc analysis as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or Commercial Real Estate (or other relevant degree, e.g. Economics, Mathematics)
2 – 5 years of experience in Real Estate, preferably within banking and/or private equity
Strong understanding of real estate investment concepts and analysis
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Self-starter, able to work independently or in a team environment
Demonstrated flexibility to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Unquestionable integrity and ethics
Success developing and sustaining strong relationships with clients and colleagues
Strong proficiency in MS Office applications (especially Excel)
Experience in commercial real estate or loan underwriting is required
Experience in senior housing real estate or operations is preferred, but not required
