Plans, implements, and supervises community‑oriented programs designed to advance the mission, vision and core values of the Authority. Under the direction of the Director, Government Relations & Grants Administration, this position assists with messaging on all forms of media and interacting as needed and directed by the Director with members of the press. Major Responsibilities And Duties

Serves as the point of contact between individuals and groups who initiate contact with, or request a response from, the Authority, and groups or organizations that the Authority needs to reach regarding projects that may impact upon them. Writes material for media releases, plans and helps manage public relations programs for the Authority. Engages civic and community organizations to support and develop community relations with the Authority. Creates and maintains a favorable public image for the Authority by positively representing the Authority in the community and by attending and participating in community meetings and events; engages with organizational leaders on key issues relevant to the Authority; initiates dialogue with organizational leaders. Works with the Government Relations Department to deliver a unified message to address community issues. Assists the website manager responsible for developing, maintaining and expanding the public outreach functions of the DRPA and PATCO websites and on all forms of media. Facilitates requests from non‑profit organizations requiring in‑kind services and/or surplus furniture and equipment. Develops and implements public outreach and community education initiatives in concert with other Authority departments. Performs special studies and prepares reports relative to the efficiency of the Authority’s community relations programs and activities. Assists the Director, Government Relations & Grants Administration in the dissemination of information to the public and in responding to press inquiries. Prepares statements and memoranda that articulate the Authority’s position on various community‑related issues. Monitors tracking of constituent communications in order to identify trends, quantify responses and initiate programs that improve Authority services. N/A Education / Training / Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field, or 3 to 5 years’ experience in community relations and/or marketing with nonprofit or governmental agencies or corporations. Training and proficiency in personal computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheet applications and presentations. Environmental Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Typical working environment: normal office situation. Employees may work in wet or humid conditions, near moving mechanical parts, and in outdoor weather conditions as required.
