Our mission is to usher in a new era of Transformative Artificial Intelligence (TAI): technology with the power to drive a societal shift on the scale of the agricultural and industrial revolutions.
While others chase benchmarks and academic puzzles, we’ve been quietly rethinking the LLM stack from first principles — building a new kind of general frontier model designed for real-world reliability, decision‑making, and autonomy in production.
We’re a small, fast‑moving team from OpenAI, Google Brain, and Meta/FAIR, backed by top‑tier investors. Since mid‑2024, we’ve been engineering the foundation for what comes after the current “state‑of‑the‑art” — a model that actually gets things done.
About the Role We’re looking for a
product designer who thinks like an engineer
— someone who enjoys designing complex developer workflows, understands how AI systems behave, and isn’t afraid to prototype ideas directly in code.
You’ll work closely with engineers and researchers to shape the experience of building, testing, and operating our model in our console and, in the future, other product surface areas.
What you'll do:
Design end to end UX for our
developer platform , with a focus on improving the experience for new users
Create interfaces that make complex AI workflows clear and approachable, whether that tooling is in evaluations, debugging, or observability
Define the design language and influence the UX strategy for TypeSafe products
Translate complex AI system behavior into
clear, understandable UI
Occasionally
build prototypes or internal tools
using modern LLM APIs
We are looking for people who:
3+ years of experience as a UX designer
Experience designing
developer tools , such as IDE plugins, observability systems, and data tools
Strong creative problem‑solving skills and the ability to reason from first principles when designing solutions for complex technical systems
Familiarity and passion for
LLMs and AI tooling
– you vibe code to prototype, leverage gen AI products, and try out new AI tools frequently
Comfort reading code, debugging, and collaborating closely with engineers
