JOB TITLE Annual Giving Internship- Institutional Advancement and UW Foundation
JOB PURPOSE The Annual Giving Intern supports the Annual Giving team at the University of Wyoming Foundation by assisting with fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship initiatives, and student engagement efforts. This position provides hands‑on experience in philanthropy and higher education advancement through involvement in projects such as ongoing solicitations, Giving Day preparation, stewardship initiatives, and the development of the WyoGold student organization. The intern will collaborate with Annual Giving team members while gaining practical experience in fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and nonprofit development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a customer service–focused approach in all interactions with Foundation constituencies, including donors, campus partners, and colleagues, in support of organizational goals.
Assist the Annual Giving team with direct mail solicitations, digital solicitations, and crowdfunding campaigns.
Support the planning, implementation, tracking, and monitoring of appeals, including updating internal tracking metrics and reports.
Support the preparation of campaign materials and reports for campus partners related to Annual Giving initiatives.
Prepare and send First‑Time Donor and Steamboat Society stewardship mailers.
Support the development and coordination of WyoGold, a Registered Student Organization (RSO), to expand opportunities for students to engage in volunteering, philanthropy, and campus involvement.
Explore industry best practices and emerging trends in philanthropy and annual giving, with opportunities to develop and implement project ideas that enhance Annual Giving efforts.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS
Develop an understanding of annual giving and the role of philanthropy in supporting higher education.
Gain hands‑on experience supporting fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, digital solicitations, and crowdfunding initiatives.
Develop organizational and project management skills by assisting with campaign tracking, reporting, and stewardship initiatives.
Learn how donor stewardship and engagement efforts contribute to long‑term philanthropic relationships.
Build professional communication skills as well as gain experience collaborating with campus partners and supporting student engagement initiatives, including involvement with WyoGold and other campus outreach efforts.
Explore best practices and emerging trends in philanthropy and fundraising, with opportunities to contribute ideas and projects to the Annual Giving program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum GPA of 2.5.
Ability to work approximately 15–20 hours per week during the academic semester.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks while also collaborating within a team environment.
Willingness to engage with students and promote campus initiatives.
Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with donors and institutional information.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, business, public relations, or a related field.
Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel spreadsheets, and basic data management.
Demonstrated ability to review written materials or communications for accuracy and clarity.
Interest in fundraising, philanthropy, and donor engagement within nonprofit or higher education settings.
